β€œOur septic tank ran full and was a mess. I called a few others and they either didn’t answer or wouldn’t be able to come for a few days. I called Warrior and they came that day and pumped our tank. They were very courteous and professional and answered all my questions. And the price for the service and getting it done same day was great! I highly recommend Warrior Pumping to anyone and everyone who may need this service.” β€” Brannon Patterson, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œAbove and beyond! Mr. Davis and Caelin took care of us within 24 hours of speaking on the phone. They assessed what we needed, gave us the prices and info for if we want to replace our tank in the future and had everything cleaned up in no time. Incredibly honest and friendly service from start to finish. Our tank was full and needed pumping (water coming from the overflow which prompted our call), roots were grown down into the lid of our tank and both lids on the tank were bowed in and broken upon inspection. They pumped and inspected the tank and replaced both lids. They took before and after photos of the inside of the tank to show us as well. Excellent service all around.” β€” Jaclyn Head, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What Customers Say:

β€œWe had this recurring problem of sewer backups in our home (constructed in the mid 2000's). An earlier video inspection had concluded a belly in one of the major sewer lines under our slab. The plumbers asked for some unholy (in my opinion) amount of money to fix the issue. We managed around the issue for some time then when were were ready to repair, we considered Spanky's, among other plumbers. Spanky's had the lowest estimate. BY FAR. Their detailed sewer locator mapping accurately identified where the issue was. And it turned out to be a hump, not a belly, in the line (most likely caused by mistake during construction). Trae and Eric did an excellent job accessing the pipe and fixing the issue. With the most minimum tear to the slab. Very friendly people to be around and work with. They explained things well, took my suggestions in to account, and answered my MANY questions. Cleaned up very well after finishing. At the end, they adjusted the price downwards because the problem turned out to be straightforward to resolve. An indicator of fair business practice. Highly recommended if you have a similar problem.” β€” Charles Sabatia, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
β€œTrae and Jason were very helpful and fixed multiple sink issues. They explained what they were doing and were friendly and professional. Will definitely use Spanky's again for future plumbing needs!” β€” K F, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

β€œDo not use! Mr. White came out to clean and inspect our septic system after two days of heavy rain. (First red flag!) He told my husband the yard was too wet to do anything and that he had not been able to get to the tank to clean it, yet he claimed we needed new field lines. (2nd red flag! How do you know if you didn't inspect the tank? There were no other indications of potential problems.) We had another company come out to finish the job - Mr. White had not even cleared all the way down to the tank lids, he had not put the lid back on flush from the last time he came to clean it (5 years ago!), and we do not need new field lines. His lack of integrity could have cost us thousands of dollars.” β€” Meghan Sherman, ⭐
β€œTook them an hour to locate to septic tank. Had to come back the next week to do the work, but didn’t show for appointment. Once they dug up the tank they β€œcleaned” it and wrote a report saying it needed to be replaced. Had to hire another company to actually clean the tank (2 feet of sludge left by Whites) and reinspect tank and put lid back on tank. Whites did not place lid back on correctly and the tank filled full of run off water. Would not use company again. They didn’t seem very knowledgeable and contradicted everything they said. They tried to sell me nee kids and new field lines and another company said ours was is perfect working prefer.” β€” Amanda, ⭐

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I pump my septic tank?

Most septic tanks should be pumped every 3-5 years, depending on household size, tank capacity, and water usage. A family of four with a 1,000-gallon tank typically needs pumping every 3 years. Regular pumping prevents solids from entering the drain field and extends your system's lifespan.

How much does septic pumping cost in Tuscaloosa?

Septic pumping in Tuscaloosa, Alabama typically costs between $300 and $600, depending on tank size (750-1,500 gallons), accessibility, and the service provider. Request quotes from multiple companies listed above for the best price.

What are signs my septic system needs repair?

Warning signs include: slow drains throughout the house, sewage odors near the tank or drain field, standing water or soggy spots in the yard, gurgling sounds in pipes, unusually lush grass over the drain field, and sewage backing up into the home. If you notice any of these, contact a professional immediately.

Do I need a permit for septic installation in Alabama?

Yes, Alabama requires permits for new septic system installations and most major repairs. Permits ensure systems meet health and environmental standards. Your septic installer will typically handle the permit process, but fees are usually $200-$1,000 depending on your location.

How long does a septic system last?

A well-maintained septic system can last 25-40 years or more. Concrete tanks last the longest (40+ years), while steel tanks may only last 15-20 years before rusting. The drain field typically lasts 20-30 years. Regular pumping, proper use, and prompt repairs are key to maximizing your system's lifespan.

What is the difference between a septic tank and sewer?

A septic system is a private, on-site wastewater treatment system owned and maintained by the homeowner. A sewer system connects your home to a municipal treatment plant that processes wastewater from the entire community. Septic systems require regular pumping (every 3-5 years), while sewer systems charge monthly fees for centralized treatment.
