“Update (January 28, 2026): I'm revising this review. While Anthony was professional and communicated well during the visit, he misdiagnosed my issue. My Ecobee thermostat was alerting me to frequent HVAC reboots. Anthony attributed the problem to dirty ductwork and performed routine maintenance. I had my ducts cleaned on January 16th—something that genuinely needed to be done after 15 years—but the reboots continued. When Bassett Services sent a second technician from Fire & Ice Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical on January 21st, he quickly diagnosed the actual problem: a failing limit switch. It took him minutes. That misdiagnosis cost me nearly three weeks during a historic Ohio cold snap with wind chills hitting 25 below zero. I don't doubt Anthony's intentions, but the problem should have been caught on January 2nd. Original Review: Anthony came out for my 6-month maintenance visit and immediately set the bar high. Professional, thorough, and genuinely knowledgeable. What really stood out was how he communicated—he walked me through a few maintenance items I should consider down the road, showed me actual pictures of my equipment, and explained exactly why each item mattered. No pressure. Just straight information that helped me understand my system and make informed decisions about timing. That kind of transparency is rare, and I appreciated it. I walked away feeling like a more informed homeowner with a clear picture of what's ahead. If you're in Columbus and want an HVAC tech who takes the time to educate rather than just sell, ask for Anthony at CJS Heating and Air.”

“Just had a great experience with Walter during an issue we were having with our sump pump. He was very knowledgeable and personable and took the time to walk me through everything he was doing during the fix. Not only did everything get fixed - I learned a thing or two during the process as well 🙂.”

“Called and asked for a main line clean out. Asked price and was quoted $98.00. I thought that was crazy low, so I asked twice to clarify the $98.00 price point. The scheduler assured me it was $98.00 unless additional equipment was brought in. Imagine my surprise when I received a 711.00 bill my staff member wrote a check for. The technician decided to camera the line (not asked for and I was not contacted regarding) and then went on to charge me for that service. They then used that to offer recommendations on "necessary repairs" that they would be willing to do. (Like they were looking for more work/money from me) I called them the following day to find out what was gong on and hopefully rectify the issue. I was informed they were listening to call logs and would get back to me. I then waited two weeks and called back and spoke to a manager. After a lengthy discussion, I begrudgingly agreed to accept a check back for half the amount. It's been over 2.5 months and have not received said check. The whole interaction felt dishonest and like they were trying to take advantage of my staff member. I definitely do not recommend this company known as Bassett Services and formerly known as Discount Drains.”

“The technician arrived on time and prepared to work.. He made the repairs as requested and worked very efficiently. The technician clean up his mess after installation and walked me through showing me the repaired outlets. Felt confident in his work and satisfied with the level of service I received from this technician and the company. Would definitely use them again”
